About the Artists
As a conductor, Andrew Rosenfeld is equally at home in front of an opera, orchestra, or choir. His work
has been praised by DC Metro Theater Arts as “breathing new life” into classic works. In 2015 Rosenfeld was appointed Associate Conductor of the Frederick (Maryland) Symphony Orchestra and is founding director of The Frederick Camerata, the FSO’s chamber ensemble. He serves as musical director and conductor of the Hub Opera Company (Hagerstown, Maryland) with performances of Turn of the Screw, L’Elisir D’amore, Barbiere di Siviglia, and La Boheme to his credit.
Rosenfeld serves as Professor of Music at Mount St. Mary’s University, where, in addition to directing the vocal ensembles, he is chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and teaches a wide array of courses in music history and theory and in the humanities. In 2008, he led the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Elizabeth Schulze, music director, and festival chorus in a special performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy for the celebration of the bicentennial of Mount St. Mary’s University – a performance praised as “outstanding” by Maestra Schulze.
He holds degrees in conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Illinois, having studied under Elmer Thomas, Paul Vermel, Ian Hobson, and John Leman.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia,Canada, Rebecca Fox is no stranger to the stage and live performance.
Since Rebecca was young, she has grown up on the stage, both performing, directing and producing.
Upon completing her time at the famed American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, Rebecca worked professionally in New York, Toronto, and Berlin. Rebecca got her start producing and directing in Toronto when she became a member of Red One Theatre Collective, where she produced and directed many independent works and shows including Upstart Cabaret. During her time in Toronto, she became a member of The Cindy Tanas Actors Studio where she co-produced Norm Fosters, The Melville Boys and other Canadian plays. Rebecca also spent time at Second City Toronto. in 2012 Rebecca moved to Berlin Germany, where she quickly began producing and
directing her own works including Ozzie and Juju Christmas Spectacular, and Ozzie and Juju.... in the beginning with writing and performance partner Andrew Young. She continues to perform with Performance companies in Berlin such as The Gin Palace Cabaret, and Pasta Opera as well.
Currently Rebecca teaches at Die Etage where she teaches young actors Meisner Technique, performance and audition technique. Along with producing directing and teaching, Rebecca runs her own fast growing actors studio where she coaches emerging as well as seasoned professionals. Rebecca is thrilled join the cast and team of Mozarts Cosi Fan Tutte for her Operatic directorial debut.
The pianist Andrej Hovrin was born in Samara, Russia. After studying at the Music High-school he began his piano studies under Professors Ruvim Ostrovsky and Tatiana Bibikova at the St Petersburg Conservatorium In 1994 he graduated with distinctions in Piano, Chamber Music and Lied Accompaniment.
In 2000 he commenced Post Graduate Studies in Lied Accompaniment with Konrad Richter at the Stuttgart Conservatorium. Andrej is in demand as a Lied Accompanist throughout Europe and America. He
accompanies International Masterclasses such as the Summer Academy at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Härnösand Summer Opera Academy (Sweden), Jeunesses Musicales Schloss Weikersheim (Germany) with renowned teachers such as, among others, Inge Borkh, Julia Hamari, Richard Miller, George
Shirley, Vladimir Chernov und Luba Orgonasova. He accompanied the European Singing Competition DEBUT and the International Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg Competition. Guest engagements took him to the Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Oper Schloss Weikersheim, Theater Hof, Aalto Theater
Essen and the Komische Oper Berlin. In addition he is a Lecturer at the Music Conservatoria in Petrosavodsk, Würzburg, Hannover und Düsseldorf.
Soprano, Courtney Ross, joins the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte singing the role of Fiordigligi in IOP's first summer festival held in Berlin Germany!
Courteny has performed both lead and supporting roles with companies like Fort Worth Opera, New York Opera Exchange, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Bremen Philharmonic, Teatro La Vittoria, Opera Singers Initiative, Bel Cantanti Opera, West Bay Opera, the National Philharmonic, Opera Moderne, Opera San Jose, The Stockton Opera & Symphony, the Waterford Concert Series, and the Santa Cruz Chamber Symphony.
Ms. Ross also has a strong appreciation for contemporary classical music and has been involved with several collaborations including the world premiere of Jorge Martin’s Before Night Falls in which she sang the role of the Moon. This opera premiered at Fort Worth Opera and was recorded by Albany records 2010. More recently she the title role of Ardi for a recording of the opera by up and coming composer Daniel Masmanian.
Ms. Ross received her M. M. in vocal performance from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. She is a recipient of the Cecilia Award for Vocal Excellence from Shenandoah Conservatory where she completed her bachelor’s degree. Other honors include the Concert Artist Award from the Metropolitan International Music Festival Vocal Competition, a Fielder Grant scholarship and she was a grant recipient from the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust.
Mezzo-soprano Jean Broekhuizen, is happy to be joining IOP Summer Festival, singing one of her favorite Mozart roles, Dorabella, which sang at the Oper Leipzig in 2013. Her 2015-2016 also season included a return to Oper Leipzig singing Fenena as well as reprising the role of Farzana in Wagner’s DIE FEEN, and a concert performance as Hänsel with the Publikumsorchester of the Konzerthaus Berlin.
From 2008-2015 Jean was a full-time soloist at the Oper Leipzig, where roles included: Oktavian in DER ROSENKAVALIER, Hänsel in HÄNSEL UND GRETEL, Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI, Rosina in IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Fenena in NABUCCO, Fox in THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, among many others. From 2007-2008, she was a soloist at the Theater Augsburg, singing Rosina, Dorabella and Orfeo in ORFEO EDEURIDICE.
Guest engagements have taken her to the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee (Sorceress in DIDO AND AENEAS), the Schlossfestspiele at the Staatstheater Schwerin (Fenena), the Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Rosina), and Theater Magdeburg (Hänsel).
Ms. Broekhuizen had the honor of being a National Semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition in 2005, as well as a three time Wisconsin District First Place Winner in previous years. She recived her Master in Music at the University of Michigan and completed the Professional Studies certifcate at the Manhattan School of Music. Jean has been a Young Artist at the Chicago Opera Theater, Central City Opera, Chautauqua Opera and Skylight Opera Theater.
Katie Bolding, who joins us as Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte, made her professional operatic debut in 2010 with the Dallas Opera, as Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto, where she also covered the role of Gilda. She also appeared with Regal Opera of Dallas and won "Audience Favorite" in the Dallas Opera Guild voice competition. Her professional chorus experience in the USA includes the Metropolitan Opera New York and the Dallas Opera.
Her European solo debut followed in 2011 as the soloist in Mahler's 4th Symphony on a concert tour under the baton of conductor Leo Siberski. From 2012-2014 she was engaged as a lyric coloratura soprano with the ensemble of the Theater and Philharmonic Thuringia, where she sang numerous roles and concerts. In 2014 she became the first American woman in the chorus of the State Opera of Berlin, where she has also sung small roles with the ensemble in Le Nozze di Figaro, Orpheus in der Unterwelt and Der Freischuetz.
Aside from her current engagements, she enjoys giving concert performances. Recent appearances include a lieder concert in Frankfurt, Mozart's Requiem in Bonn and a concert of the music of Leonard Bernstein in Berlin Katie Bolding has performed as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Northeast Orchestra, among others.
Ms Bolding recieved master’s degree in Classical Music and Opera Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase.
August Lorenz, baritone, who will sing the role of Guigliermo in Cosi, was introduced to watching operas at a young age and was inspired by this art form, leading him to audition successfully for the Vienna Boys Choir. He continued his musical education at the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music following on to the RNCM, where he was awarded a scholarship. He won the Elsie Thurston Song Prize, the Freckleton Prize & Doherty Cup for Singing, the Brigitte Fassbaender Preis für Lieder and was a finalist at Bundeswettbewerbgesang Berlin.
He has taken part in master classes with Rudolf Piernay, John Fisher, Olaf Bär and had the great fortune to be mentored by internationally acclaimed singing teacher Michael Rhodes. Augusts passion for opera has led him to perform several roles such as Belcore in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (Fun Opera), Will in Jamie Thompson’s Clyde Water (S-Theatre), Papageno in
Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (RNCM), Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozzae di Figaro (Elemental Opera), Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte (Elemental Opera) and Dr Falke in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (Baronial Hall).
Highlights on the concert platform include Brahms’ German Requiem, J.S. Bach’s St. John’s Passion, .S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Vaughan WiIliams’ Fantasia on Christmas Songs, Haydn’s The Creation and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella.
Ausgust completed his Bachelor of Music with honors at the Royal Northern College of Music and is currently studying with renowned Heldentenor John Treleaven.
The Swedish tenor Erik Enqvist joins IOP to make his role debut as Ferrando in Così fan tutte. He received a bachelor’s degree with honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and made his professional operatic debut at the International Vadstena Academy in Sweden in 2005. Ever since his graduation Erik has been affiliated with the Gothenburg Opera where he has performed a number of supporting roles such as Giuseppe in La Traviata, Venditore in La Boheme, Zweiter Jude in Salome and Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro. Erik is also a sought after oratorio and concert soloist and has performed around Europe in works such as Händel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, St. John's Passion by J.S. Bach and St. Cecilia Mass by Gounod. During his time in London, Erik performed in venues such as The Wigmore Hall, St. John Smith Square, Queen Elizabeth Hall and at the Cheltenham Festival. He has also participated in live broadcasts for BBC Radio and Swedish National Radio.
