ABOUT

ABOUT

We are INTERNATIONAL OPERA PROJECTS, a company dedicated to providing performance opportunities for emerging talent, as well as serve as a platform for contemporary composers to have their works performed. Inspired by the phrase, "Where the Old meets the New”, we also wish to emphasize the importance of the traditional operatic repertoire, while, at the same time, introduce new, innovative and emotionally driven operatic stage pieces!

Over the years opera has been thought of as something out of reach for many people, and its relevance has even been questioned. We are here to add our voices to the change that is starting to take place in this world of the performing arts! We urge you to step inside, take a look, consider making a donation or perhaps attend a show!

July 2016 kicks off our first summer festival for this emerging company! With a terrific cast and staff in place and a fabulous venue in which to perform, we want to ensure that this reaches the height of success that we know is attainable!

This summer we will produce two operas, a visually stunning reduced version of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte and the provocative and musically stunning As One by the superb artistic team of Laura Kaminsky (composer), Mark Campbell (co-librettist) & Kimberly Reed (co-librettist & film maker).INTERNATIONAL OPERA PROJECTS, founded in 2016, is a company dedicated to providing performance opportunities for emerging talent, as well as a platform for contemporary composers to have their works performed.

IOP will produce an annual summer festival, consisting of two operas, one from the standard repertoire and another from modern opera. The festival will also feature singers in a gala evening of arias & scenes as a preview for the upcoming operas.

We hope to enrich the community we will be performing in by providing an environment where audiences can experience opera and develop a better appreciation for the art form.

Opportunities exist for professional and emerging talented artists: singers, instrumentalists, directors, designers and composers.

This year’s festival will take place in Berlin, Germany. A dynamic, scintillating, and artistically vibrant city, Berlin offers a rich cultural experience for locals and visitors alike.

This inaugural season, International Opera Projects will present: the European premiere of Laura Kaminsky's As One and Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte.
